School Custodian | Full-time Evenings
Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School is seeking a Custodian to work in an innovative school serving grades k-8. The successful candidate will possess experience working in a school setting. Candidate must share OSACPS’s mission. The Custodian will be responsible for the overall cleanliness, sanitation, safety and maintenance of the Old Sturbridge Academy facilities, buildings, grounds and equipment.

Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School will provide K-8 students with rigorous, real-world learning experiences in a supportive and nurturing school community, helping all students to become reflective inquisitors, articulate communicators, critical thinkers, and skilled problem solvers. Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School, an EL Education (formerly known as Expeditionary Learning) school working in partnership with Old Sturbridge Village, will foster a learning environment that represents all aspects of the diversity spectrum where our students will meet or exceed grade-level expectations in all subject areas.
About the School
Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School opened in 2017 and will serve 360 students in grades kindergarten through eighth during the 2022-2023 school year. There are 40 students in each grade level. We believe in hands-on learning that focuses on three levels of student achievement: mastery of knowledge and skills, character, and high-quality work. Our school’s habits of character, which define our culture, are courage, collaboration, stewardship, perseverance, and high-quality work.

Essential Duties:
- Daily cleaning of breakfast/lunch area, vacuuming, disinfecting surfaces, restocking of bathrooms, offices, classrooms, mopping.
- Special projects as assigned, but not limited to washing walls and glass, painting, cleaning of carpets, outside trash, sweeping of walks, snow removal, pressure washing and minor repairs.
- Knowledge of the use of tools, techniques, equipment, and procedures required in the cleaning of buildings and light repair and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work, be self-motivated, and perform tasks in a timely manner.
- Setup of classrooms or moving classrooms around, as needed.
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and lift up to 50lbs regularly, up to 75lbs occasionally with help.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Availability to work nights, early mornings, and/or weekends as needed.
- Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Summer and vacation hours may differ.
