Olivia Wandelear
Sixth Grade Humanities Teacher
Email

Olivia Wandelear is our 6th grade Humanities teacher. Ms. Wandelear was born and raised in Southbridge, Massachusetts and knew from a very young age that teaching was her calling. At first, she thought it stemmed from my lifelong appreciation for office supplies: the smell of a freshly sharpened pencil, the melodious squeak of a whiteboard marker, the elegance of a rainbow pack of construction paper, or the thrilling spin of an office chair. She still loves all of those things, of course! However, now she knows that her passion for teaching is deeply rooted in her desire to be an agent of positive change. The biggest, brightest, and most passionate ideas live in the minds of our students. What a gift it is to witness and facilitate such impact!

Ms. Wandelear earned her undergraduate degree in Secondary Education with a focus in English from the University of Maine at Farmington and my Master’s in Literacy from the University of Southern Maine. For the past seven years she has lived and taught in Maine, working in both special and general education settings, always with a focus in reading and writing. She is so grateful for the opportunity to return to central Massachusetts, the state and community that raised her. Not only is she thrilled to embark on a journey of learning with our scholars, but she is also eager to join a Crew so dedicated to collaborating with and giving back to its community. She’s ready for an ox-some year!
